On the 24th July 2016, we went to visit Hana since we were still in the Hari Raya season. After that, we decided to visit Aisyah, Fithrin and Adyan. Originally, we were all suppose to ‘jalan raya’ but Adyan recently had bronchitis and he was asked not to go out in the open that often. So, this year we lepak at one place – Aisyah’s parents place. After Hana’s place, we had some time to kill as we wait for them to return home. Apa lagi, we drop by the BTO Project we are eyeing on. Deep down, I knew we will get that unit at level 8. You know, that whole gut feeling… ‘You just know it’.
Yes, we literally kill time there. I think the construction workers noticed us and perhaps peep on us la most of the time. Lucky it wasn’t raining. All this memories will forever on my heart, biggest investment so far with my one and only Irman. What more can I ask right? After all these snapshots, we decided to drop by ChongPang to buy durian, so that we can tapao to Aisyah’s place and lepak as we watch some movie etc. The most chillax raya outing every year with none other than them 🙂 But hey, the time that we spent with that matters. Lotsa to catch up too!
Fast forward to Monday, 25th July 2016. We both took leave, so were my parents. My first ever leave from school/work in my 5 year stint in WDL. Taking a leave to select a unit? This is definitely worth it la. By 945am, Irman fetched my parents and me. He had a fast breakfast and off we head to Toa Payoh. I had butterflies in the stomach that before I left home, I had to go in and out toilet for a couple of times. Nervous ah. And excited. I know we are all prepared with resources/forms/documents etc but somehow or rather, I felt like we miss out something. Thankfully, we didnt. Very paisey when I had to present the documents in my file, but I think that really expedite the whole selection process. Fast and most importantly, neat because we know where our documents are. We were there early, so we brought my parents up to Level 3 for the actual viewing of a 5-room HDB Flat Layout. I am glad my parents are part of this journey. Allow them reminisce how it was like when they first apply their own home and allow them to also experience how we nowadays apply home. Definitely an eye-opener for them 🙂 After the tour, we reported for the registration of queue ticket. After which, just have to wait. We didnt have to wait too long as they really stick to the timing of the appointment as stated in the Invitation Letter (plus ehem we kiasu, register half an hour earlier).
Made our Option Fee payment too. Our main concern is: The probable completion date for this BTO is on the 4th quarter of this year (we can’t produce the ROMM Certificate in time when we collect keys). So, we need to call the HDB Officer handling our application to ask for deferment of key collection. But good news! Since, we are not eligible for any additional housing grant (our combine income exceed the minimum requirement), we can always collect keys early and produce the cert later next year. So, not any issue after all. Pheww. That has always been our worry, “What if we can’t produce the cert in time? Will our application be voided?”. Well, our appointment ended in about 1hr 15mins. After which, we brought my parents to Andes for lunch and off we go back to send my parents. But again, we were overly excited and decided to bring my parents to our home. OMG, our Home. They loved it.
Oh not forgetting that WE are going to be neighbours with Aisyah, Fithrin and Adyan too! What more can we ask for! I wouldn’t thought we would get here you know. we = me + Irman. We were just NPCC mates, friends and the rest are all history. Now, we are adding more milestone together. Building a home before we are formally engaged and married. Who get their keys before married? Rare? Maybe? But I am glad that we get this far. Really thankful we have progress so far in our relationship for the past 2 years plus. They say, “Kalau jodoh tak kemana…” We may have some miscomm back in his NS years but fast forward few years, who would have thought we would be together – getting engaged, planning for marriage and purchasing our first ever property together as a couple. Alhamdulillah.
Love,
Nadz
(ps: can’t wait for next milestone next month, to be exact, in 11 days more!)
